I think I now know...my hens have depleted the worm population around here. I didn't have to plant them. Last year my wonderful neighbors gave me somewhere around 25 plants. They even planted them in rows in our backyard and built wire structures for them. Raspberries must like cooler weather, because we have a bounty.Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199328139152042955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6690745083870672507.post-29233743373755175092010-06-30T05:31:04.937-07:002010-06-30T05:31:04.937-07:00Hi Cindy - I love the photos of your chickens. It's amazing how they find them.

I'm envious that you can pick raspberries in your yard. How lucky are you!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16675573152135600754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6690745083870672507.post-14015631674822994372010-06-28T10:48:51.738-07:002010-06-28T10:48:51.738-07:00Fannie, I did plant my strawberries in a pot this ...Fannie, I did plant my strawberries in a pot this year, but have planted them next to the raised beds in the past. They send out little runners, but they don't seem to be invasive. The problem here is critters seem to eat the low-growing berries before I can get to them.Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199328139152042955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6690745083870672507.post-53883699420643773972010-06-28T08:06:13.750-07:002010-06-28T08:06:13.750-07:00Question on the strawberries - I've been reluc...Question on the strawberries - I've been reluctant because I understand they're invasive. And they actually let me pet them!

Beyond a few smoothies, the raspberries are eaten by the handfuls around here. A tummy ache tells me I should either freeze some or churn some raspberry ice cream.Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199328139152042955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6690745083870672507.post-80905131249247704252010-06-25T04:30:37.671-07:002010-06-25T04:30:37.671-07:00You gotta love those fluffy-butts! I just love how they look against the green grass.

I think birds can hear the worms...robins sure seem to be able to find them easily enough.

Those raspberries look wonderful! They would never make it into a recipe here...we would just eat them out of hand, too.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14201860227400017841noreply@blogger.com
