Notice the beautiful weather? Most people think it rains a lot at the beach, but the clouds have parted on most of our excursions over the years.
If I’ve inspired you to travel to the west coast, I recommend the Oregon beaches over Washington’s. In Washington they allow people to drive their cars on the beach, which, in my opinion is just not right. We spent too much energy trying to keep dogs and kids away from fast moving cars and trucks.
If you do take a trip to Washington’s coast, make sure you drive up to Oysterville (located 14 miles north of Long Beach on the peninsula). On a sunny spring day, this charming little town could make me sell the house, pack my bags and move to a little house on Willapa Bay... oyster capital of the world.

What a beautiful post, Cindy. Looks like you had perfect weather for your beach outing. I agree about Oysterville. The church and old houses along the main street are so picturesque.
What fun to watch beautiful Isabel grow up on the beach! And WOW! has she ever grown up in the last year! Look at those curves! Watch out Mom and Dad!
And here I thought you've been talking about Long Beach, CA. I didn't realize there was one in your neck of the woods. You probably thought I was a little nuts from the comments I made on FB! Well, I am a little nuts, but that's beside the point.

Thanks Cathy, we were very fortunate to have some clear skies. We did have an amazing wind storm one night, but for some reason I like that at the beach.
So you've been to Oysterville... are you familiar with The Ark restaurant? Jimella and Nanci had to walk away from it. I was shocked to find it was completely gone. I didn't realize until later that Jimella and Nanci now run a seafood/wine shop in town. We stopped there for both items.

We were in Astoria for Spring Break. It was sunny but windy, then rainy, then cloudy....great for pictures though!
They must drive on at least some of the OR beaches too. We went to take a look at the Peter Iredale shipwreck and couldn't see it from where we were standing because two trucks had pulled up right in front of it to have a look. The wind was so strong we just gave up.
Still going to the coast is always a great time! Glad you guys had a chance to get away and enjoy yourselves.
What wonderful pictures! We lucked out with the weather over spring break. But even in the rain, the Oregon (or this case Washington) coast is always amazing!

What a wonderful progression of Iz running on the beach, running on the beach, running on the beach! That was my passion whenever we got out to the coast. Happens too seldom these days :(
