bittersweet
I found these small signs that spring is on its way.
I'm searching for a bit of hope today. We took my Dad to the emergency room yesterday. After days of waiting for a procedure that was to determine why he could not hold food or liquids down, he had become very dehydrated and weak. Images last week showed that he had a blockage that they thought was in his esophagus. While waiting for this procedure to take place, he went downhill very quickly. Tests today show that his kidneys have completely shut down and he is scheduled for dialysis this afternoon with the hope that they can be restarted. Meanwhile, the endoscopy they did this morning shows nothing in the esophagus. So the tests continue. Before this episode, my Dad, who turns 83 tomorrow, has been a very healthy, vibrant man. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry Cindy. I went through a similar experience with my mother in '07. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I am sure - as a family - should alternate decisions need to be made - everyone will make them with your Father's dignity at heart. I did - and I have no regrets. Peace be with you over the next few days. Day what ever needs to be said or remains unspoken in your heart.
I'll be thinking of you Cindy and sending lots of prayers and good wishes your way. I hope your dad will quickly be on the road to recovery.
Oh, Cindy! This is so upsetting. Please feel my arms wrapped around you in comfort. I hope there will be a way for him to recover. Know that I will be thinking of you and hoping for a good outcome. ((hugs))
Thanks for your message Laura. I'm sorry for the loss of your mother. It's so hard to lose someone who you've known your entire life. I'm sure it gives you some comfort to not have any regrets though.
Cathy, I appreciate your prayers and good wishes very much!
Susan, Thank you for the comforting hug and thoughts. They are very appreciated!
So sorry about your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you. It is amazing how God sends us little blessings to comfort us in times of adversity. Your sings of spring are beautiful!
