finally! the perfect size

blue hat

blue hat

After knitting this hat three times, it's finally ready for the felting process. I just realized that it's been over eight months since I first posted about this blue hat.

It now looks like the perfect size... keep your fingers crossed. It's in the washing machine getting agitated right now! I'm trying on every bowl in the house to find the one closest to the size of my head so it will dry the correct size.

Wow, what fun! I felted a purse and it was the size of a large shopping bag when I put it into the washer and dryer and about 14 inches tall when I took it out. Good luck with your hat. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Or you could just leave it that way, and use it for those extra-frizzy bad hair days! :D

Cathy, I'm sure the type of yarn you use has a lot to do with how much something shrinks. This hat was knit with both mohair and wool. Did your purse shrink a lot in the dryer?

Susan, You crack me up! Those extra-frizzy hair days seem to be more frequent these days. My hair has the uncanny ability to measure the humidity in the air. And we've had plenty of it this winter.

I hope you're staying warm and cozy in all the snow. I hear there's another storm headed your way later this week.
