I spent a few hours today visualizing, planning out, setting up and shooting some unique portraits. Since Wynonna is our most colorful hen, she was tagged as the subject. A big thank you to my husband and daughter for their help with wrangling and chicken bathing. She was very feisty until we released her onto the table and allowed her to be free from hands holding her wings down. The only part of her that moved, during the entire 15 minutes or so, was her head. She didn't even poop on the table. I think she's ready for her modeling career. Here are the results of today's photo session...

Oh Wynonna, you hot chick, you!
Cindy, those are great shots! The lighting is perfect and you have a perfect subject. Good job!
I have to say though, Wynonna looks as if she would like to stab your eye with her beak! It's funny how the Wyandottes have that look even when they're happy. My SLW is the same way
She's so beautiful and your pictures are amazing. So impressed she didn't poop on the table, such a professional!
Bruce actually just finished the painting of Wynonna. I was thinking of sending you a picture of it, but figured it would be better if it was a surprise. We are now searching for a box big enough for the canvas. I will let you know when we ship it so you can keep a look out. We hope you like it.
Thanks Susan. I think her expression is pretty true to how she was feeling... not too happy with me. She's keeping her distance this morning. She is one hot chick isn't she? I'll be trying more when the weather is better and it's easier to clean her up. I had my husband hold her upside down while I cleaned her beak. She was so calm for that, stunned actually.
Alisa and Bruce, Thanks for your note. I can't wait to see the painting!!!!! No pictures of it necessary... I want to be surprised.
I feel a new series coming on with this style. The subjects are challenging, but a lot of fun.
I'm sitting here gawking over your pictures...
Hi HorseFeathers. Thanks for visiting my blog and admiring my photos. I'll come visit your blog so I can find out what kinds of chickens you have.
Hi really like these photos, excellent work.
Do you mind me asking, What kind of lighting setup did you had here?
Thanks
Sim
Thanks Sim. I'm using Paul C. Buff White Lightning lights.
